This project explores who participates in what kind of internships and placements and why. In addition we will investigate whether and how such experiences contribute to reproducing or disrupting gender and social inequalities in higher education and the labour market in an institutional context, using the UK and Italy as examples.
We would very much like to hear from undergraduate students in their final year of UG studies (in Politics and/or Economics subjects), who have participated in internship(s) and/or work placement(s) during their higher education experience (irrespective if this experience is integrated within their degree or not). We are therefore carrying out 20 one-to-one interviews during June-September 2021. These interviews will last around 30-60 minutes, and can be conducted online or via telephone during timings that fit in with you. These interviews will be audio recorded, to ensure that we report the information accurately. Participants will earn a £10 Amazon voucher on completing the interview.
If you are interested in taking part, leave us a message via the form below or email us at gradtransitionsresearch@gmail.com. Please see the Participant Information Sheet and consent form below for information. The study has been granted ethical approval by Oxford Brookes (UREC Registration number L20207).
